Mission Statement St. Landry Catholic Church is a community of the faithful that serves God and our neighbors by coming to know and love more deeply Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This is accomplished through the study of Sacred Scripture and by practicing the traditions handed down to us, especially the seven sacraments. By the help of Jesus' Grace, we seek to imitate Him in His faith, hope and charity so that we can receive His gift of salvation in eternal life.
Community Outreach In keeping with our Parish Mission Statement, St. Landry actively participates in several "Community Outreach Initiatives"... - Lay volunteers who are active in our "Homebound" ministry visit those of our community who are unable to join us for Mass on a regular bases. These extraordinary ministers distribute Holy Communion to those who are not able to join in the celebration of weekly Mass. - Our parish proudly supports "The New Life Center" home for women and children, "The Lighthouse Mission" for homeless men, an ICONS Food Bank... - We are also one of the five "owner parishes" of Opelousas Catholic School. - Communion is distributed weekly to the residents of Heritage Manor Nursing Facility by volunteers.
